JaydLivePowerPoint add-in

Run JaydLive from inside PowerPoint

The add-in adds a JaydLive pane to PowerPoint: connect with your event code, launch polls, and drop QR and results slides into the deck without ever switching apps. It is installed per machine in about two minutes — no Microsoft store, no IT ticket.

Step 1 — download the add-in file

Download manifest.xml

This one small file is the whole installer. Keep it somewhere handy; every presenter machine needs its own copy.

Step 2 — add it to PowerPoint

Easiest — PowerPoint on the web:

  1. Go to office.com, sign in, and open or create a presentation.
  2. Click Insert → Add-ins → My Add-ins.
  3. Choose Upload My Add-in and pick the manifest.xml you downloaded.
  4. The JaydLive pane opens. On the desktop app it also adds an Open JaydLive button to the Home tab.

On a Mac (desktop app):

  1. Put manifest.xml in this folder:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Powerpoint/Data/Documents/wef/
  2. Restart PowerPoint, then Insert → Add-ins and choose JaydLive for PowerPoint.

On Windows (desktop app):

  1. Put manifest.xml in a folder of its own and share that folder (right-click → Properties → Sharing → Share).
  2. In PowerPoint: File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings → Trusted Add-in Catalogs.
  3. Add the folder's network path (like \\YOUR-PC\ars-addin), tick Show in Menu, click OK, and restart PowerPoint.
  4. Then Insert → Add-ins → My Add-ins → Shared Folder and pick JaydLive for PowerPoint.

Step 3 — present

In the pane, type your event code (try DEMO), pick the session you're presenting, and launch polls as you reach them. Insert QR slide drops the join code on a slide; Insert results slide drops a picture of the current results.

Poll slides that run themselves: in the pane's In-room programming section, pick a poll and hit Insert poll slide (or Insert all poll slides) to add a slide bound to that poll — question, choices, and a live results area. Leave Show sync on in the pane and the slideshow itself opens each poll as you advance onto its slide and closes it as you move past; phones, the big screen, and the moderator page follow automatically. Launch / Close in the pane stays as a manual override.

Surveys: a survey groups several polls so attendees answer them together, in order. Surveys are built on the Polls Programming page, and you can launch and close them right from the pane's Surveys section — launching a survey opens all of its questions at once, and closing it closes them all.

Notes: the pane needs internet (it talks to the same live JaydLive site). Slides you insert are pictures — they don't keep updating; insert a fresh one whenever you want the latest numbers.
